Let's compare

Compare and contrast the Loving Kindness exercise and the Subtle mind exercise. Explain your experience including the benefits, frustrations etc.
 
Honestly, it is very hard for me to compare these two exercises. I find joy in each exercise although I feel this exercise with the subtle mind does not allow my mind to relax. It is forcing me to be aware of the thoughts in my mind. Yes it is insightful although I have to be present also. When I meditate I like to take my mind elsewhere. This exercise is very frustrating although the concept makes sense to me. 
 
Discuss the connection of the spiritual wellness to mental and physical wellness. Explain how the connection is manifested in your personal life.
 
Spiritual wellness and physical wellness are tightly intertwined. The healthier we can keep our minds the healthier our bodies will stay. Blocked channels in the brain and heart lead to blocked channels in our vital organs. The negative energy in our brain manifest in our bodies. I have been in situations where the energy around me is very negative. I have found myself in these situations taking more sick time than normal.

  1. I completely agree about the subtle mind exercise being frusterating. I think when I may have been confused during this exercise as I didn't have many thoughts racing through my mind. When I meditate, I remove my thoughts and feelings and enjoy the simple stillness. Sometimes it even feels like i'm spinning or flying, as if i'm inside my brain and not in my physical being. I also find myself somtimes feeling ill when surrounded by large amounts of negativity. Sometimes when I'm around certain people I literally get sick, which I thought was really weird before but I know now its just a strong sense of negativity that effects not on my mental health, but biologically as well. The mind body connection is sure amazing!

    You did a great job on this week’s blog! What exercise did you think was frustrating? I really liked the subtle mind exercise out of all the exercises we did this term. I did not like the loving kindness exercise at all!
    To further the discussion, what exercise have you liked the most? Will you continue to do these types of exercises in the future after this course?
